ActionAid Nigeria is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the following position within the organisation:

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Gashua-Yobe

The post holder will provide technical support and guidance in meeting the monitoring and evaluation requirements of the humanitarian and resilience projects.  S/he will develop strategy and expertise on the results framework, key milestones, and monitoring & evaluation plan for the project and support the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning activities for the field offices.

Person Specifications

Education/Qualifications

  • First degree in social sciences or related field is essential.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies is desirable.

Experience

  • At least three (3) years post NYSC work experience, 2 of which should be in the Humanitarian and Development sector is essential.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation of project or related programme is essential.
  • Ability to use the District Health Information System (DHIS)/or any other database software is desirable.

Skill/Abilities

  1. Demonstrated relevant technical skills in analysing quantitative and qualitative data.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc., and the ability to use various statistical software programmes such as Tableau, Power BI, SPSS, Epi Info, Atlas, NVivo etc. 
  3. Extensive knowledge of reporting procedures, best practices, guidelines, and tools for monitoring, evaluation and learning, including impact evaluation.
  4. Demonstrated supervisory skills, and ability to work well on a team.
  5. Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
  6. Strong organizational and report-writing skills.
  7. Excellent planning and prioritisation skills.
  8. Strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
