Hon. Justice Mojeed Adekunle Owoade is a renowned Nigerian jurist with an impressive career spanning over four decades. Born on October 19, 1952, in Ibadan, he began his academic journey at Ibadan Grammar School and later studied law at the University of Lagos [biography]. After being called to the Nigerian Bar in 1975, he embarked on his National Youth Service in Kano State, serving as a State Counsel under the tutelage of Late Honourable Justice Sylvester Onu.
Justice Owoade's illustrious career includes serving as a High Court Judge of the High Court of Oyo State, and later being elevated to the Court of Appeal in 2006 ¹. He presided over numerous cases, both civil and criminal, and served as Presiding Justice in Ilorin, Calabar, and Kaduna Divisions before retiring on October 19, 2022. As a faculty member at Gombe State University, Dr. Bello's research focuses on critical areas such as health, illness, healthcare, education, nutrition, development, and gender-related issues.
