S(hell) Documentary | Fund Our Future

ActionAid’s new film, S(hell), highlights the negative effects of Shell’s operations on communities in Delta State, Nigeria. #FundOurFuture.

Shell is one of the world’s largest fossil fuel corporations, responsible for much of the greenhouse gases that are heating our planet and causing destructive climate change. Delta State, Nigeria, is one of the most polluted places on the planet. For decades, fossil fuel companies like Shell have been devastating already vulnerable communities with gas flaring, oil spills, theft of natural resources We are calling on Shell to commit to the elimination of gas flaring. This should be accompanied by thorough compensation to address issues raised in this film, and community development initiatives to restore agricultural productivity and local economies. The top banks funding Shell’s human rights abuses and climate harm in the Global South include Barclays, HSBC, BNP Paribas, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan Chase and Citigroup. The world’s finance is flowing in the wrong direction. Together, we can ensure a just, green, feminist and more sustainable future for all. Let’s stop funding destruction and begin to Fund Our Future: https://fundourfuture.actionaid.org
