Consultancy for Videographers: Documentation of Stories of Change (SPAC-West Africa)

Across Nigeria and West Africa, smallholder farmers, women, and marginalised communities are at the frontline of climate change impacts, including unpredictable rainfall, soil degradation, food insecurity, and livelihood losses.

The SPAC-West Africa programme promotes agroecology as a sustainable, community-driven alternative, strengthening local food systems while advancing climate justice, gender equality, and economic resilience.

Through partnerships with grassroots organisations, farmer groups, and local institutions, SPAC supports communities to:

• Adopt agroecological farming practices

• Strengthen resilience to climate shocks

• Improve livelihoods and food security

• Amplify the voices of women and youth in decision-making spaces

As the programme evolves, documenting real stories of transformation is critical for:

• Donor reporting and accountability

• Learning and knowledge sharing

• Advocacy and policy influence

• Public engagement and fundraising

This consultancy will produce compelling visual stories from six states in Nigeria, showcasing how SPAC interventions are changing lives and systems.

The target audience for the Stories of Change documentation includes:

• Donors and development partners

• Community members and beneficiaries

• Government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs)

• Civil society organisations and partners

• Media and the general public

The documentation should enable the audience to:

See

The lived realities of smallholder farmers, women, and communities, including their challenges, resilience, and participation in agroecological and climate justice initiatives.

Believe

That community-led agroecological solutions are effective, scalable, and essential for addressing climate and food system challenges.

Do

Take action by supporting agroecology, influencing policy, investing in community-led development, and amplifying climate justice efforts.
